IAIN Parepare Hosts Talk Show on Religious Moderation for Gen Z

Public Relation of IAIN Parepare - The Makassar Center for Religious Research and Development (Balai Litbang Agama Makassar) held a talk show titled "Generation Z in the Framework of Religious Moderation" at the Flyover Building of IAIN Parepare on Wednesday (27/03/2024).



The event was attended by M. Ali Rusdi (Vice Rector III of IAIN Parepare), H. Saprillah (Head of Makassar Center for Religious Research and Development), H. Muhiddin Bakri (Secretary of Institute for Research and Community Service of IAIN Parepare), and Alwiyah Nur Syari, the speaker for the program. In his opening remarks, Andi Isra Ran, the chairman of the organizing committee, announced that this talk show is the first of 12 planned events across the region organized by Balai Litbang Agama Makassar.  


H. Saprillah, in his speech, emphasized that the talk show is designed to be engaging and relevant to Gen Z.


"Religious moderation can be presented in various ways, depending on the delivery and the audience. We're trying to bring the concept of religious moderation to Gen Z in a way that's interesting and easy to understand," said H. Saprillah.




Meanwhile, H. Muhiddin, representing the Rector of IAIN Parepare, expressed his gratitude for the event. He highlighted the crucial role of Gen Z in navigating the digital age and promoting religious moderation.


"We hope that students, as part of Gen Z, will take advantage of this opportunity to participate in the talk show and spread the message of religious moderation within their communities," he said.



The talk show featured M. Ali Rusdi, Vice Rector III of IAIN Parepare, and Alwiyah Nur Syarif, a lecturer at UIN Alauddin Makassar and a National Trainer for Religious Moderation. The event aimed to educate Gen Z about the importance of religious moderation in fostering a harmonious society. (Fzs/Srh/MM)
